Privacy policy

What the dysphasion.com website and the game Dyslock collect, why, who receives it, and how to exercise your rights.

Last updated: October 16, 2026. In short: the website uses no cookies and no tracking. The game keeps your progress on your device; it creates a game account without your name or email for the daily case, shows ads through Unity Ads, and sends usage statistics only if you agree.

1. Who is responsible

The data controller is Dysphasion SAS, 21 rue Louis Melotte, 92600 Asnières-sur-Seine, France. For any question about your data, write to contact@dysphasion.com.

2. The website

  • No cookies. The site stores nothing on your device and contains no advertising, social widget or third-party video player. Fonts and videos are served by the site itself.
  • Server logs. Our host, OVH SAS, records technical logs when you visit a page (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser). They are used to run and secure the server. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Emails. If you write to us, we use your email address and your message only to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you (art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Links. Links to the App Store, Google Play, Amazon or YouTube take you to sites that have their own privacy policies.

3. The game Dyslock

Dyslock does not ask for your name, your email address or your age. None of the data below is needed to play, except that the daily case needs the game account. Here is what the game processes.

Your progress, on your device

Your progress, settings, unlocked purchases and your answer about usage statistics are saved on your device and are never sent to us. Your phone’s own backup (Google or iCloud) may include them. Uninstalling the game deletes them from the device.

Game account and daily case (Microsoft Azure PlayFab)

When the game is online, it signs in to PlayFab, a Microsoft service, with a game account that has no name or email address, tied to an identifier of your device (Android ID on Android, identifier for vendor on iOS). This account is used for the daily case: the start and end time of your runs, your times, your ranks and your record (cases solved, best rank, podiums, streaks), and checks against cheating. At each sign-in PlayFab also records your IP address and the approximate location (country, city) it derives from it, and technical information about your device.

Your detective name (by default “player” followed by random characters, which you can change) and your avatar are shown to the other players in the rankings, with your times. Please don’t use your real name.

Purpose: providing the daily case and fair rankings. Legal basis: performance of the contract for the service you use (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in preventing cheating (art. 6(1)(f)).

Ads (Unity Ads)

The free version shows video ads between levels, and optional videos that give extra hints. They are provided by Unity Ads (Unity Technologies). To choose, show and measure ads, Unity receives information about your device and the app, your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, your interactions with the ads and, if available, the advertising identifier of your device: the Google advertising ID on Android, and on iOS the IDFA only if you allow tracking. If you refuse tracking when the game asks, the game also tells Unity that you do not consent to personalized ads.

Purpose: showing and measuring the ads that pay for the free version, and preventing ad fraud. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the game free (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)) for ads that are not personalized; personalized ads require your consent (art. 6(1)(a)).

On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. Unity’s own use of this data is described in its privacy policy for players. The purchases No ads and Everything remove the ads; the ad service still starts with the game, so Unity still receives the device information above.

Usage statistics (Unity Gaming Services Analytics), only with your consent

After your first solved puzzle, the game asks once whether you agree to share usage statistics. Nothing is sent before you answer yes. With your consent, Unity Gaming Services receives gameplay and purchase statistics (levels completed, time taken, hints used, purchases), information about your device, your country and identifiers of the installation. We use them to improve the game, for example to spot puzzles that are too hard. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)); refusing changes nothing in the game. You can withdraw your consent at any time in the Menu, with Share usage statistics. Unity deletes this data after 13 months.

Purchases

Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play. We never receive your payment details. The game checks on your device which items you own.

Ratings

The rating prompt is handled by the App Store or Google Play, and we learn nothing about your answer.

We share data only with providers whose terms require them to protect it at least as well as this policy describes and as the GDPR requires. Unity and Microsoft may process data outside the European Union, in particular in the United States; they protect these transfers with the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

5. How long we keep it

  • Data on your device: until you uninstall the game (or delete your phone’s backup).
  • Game account and daily case results: until you ask us to delete them (see below).
  • Usage statistics: 13 months at Unity.
  • Emails: up to 3 years after our last exchange.
  • Server logs: kept by our host for up to one year.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict its use, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You can also tell us what should happen to your data after your death.

You can object at any time to the processing based on our legitimate interest (game account checks, ads that are not personalized, server logs), for reasons relating to your situation.

Write to contact@dysphasion.com; we answer within one month. You can also file a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).

Delete your game data

Email contact@dysphasion.com with the subject “Delete my Dyslock data” and give your detective name as shown in the daily case. Because names are public, we reply with a short code: set it as your detective name in the game for a moment, so we can check that the account is yours. We then delete your game account with your daily case results and rankings.

Usage statistics are not linked to your detective name or to your game account, so we cannot find them to delete them: untick Share usage statistics in the Menu to stop them, and Unity deletes them automatically after 13 months. Your progress stays on your device until you uninstall the game. Ad data is handled by Unity: see its policy above.

7. Children

Dyslock is a game for a general audience (rated 4+ on the App Store and PEGI 3 on Google Play). It does not ask for anyone’s age, name or contact details. If you are under 15, ask a parent before answering yes to Share usage statistics. If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

Data sent by the game and the website travels encrypted (HTTPS). Access to our service dashboards is restricted.

9. Changes

We will update this page when the website or the game changes what it collects, and change the date at the top.
